Planning, 2014-15

The planning phase of the transformation process has been completed, with roadmaps in place to address technology, financial, governance, and communications strategies for achieving the 2020 Vision for IT@MIT. The next phase is under way – implementing the multiyear strategic plans for realizing the 2020 Vision.

Listening Tour and Community Engagement

  • Developed a plan to retain and attract top talent.
    • Conducted benchmark interviews with industry and peer institutions. (June 2014)
  • Initiated Proof-of-Concept projects in collaboration with community partners. (June 2014) 
  • Adopted Vision, Goals, and Guiding Principles.
    • Vision, Goals, and Guiding Principles approved by the IT Governance Committee. (May 2014)
    • Iterative versions of the Vision, Goals, and Guiding Principles were reviewed and commented on by various IT governance and steering committees. (April 2014)
  • Launched Future of IT@MIT website and community survey. (May 2014)
  • Developed a view of IT@MIT using the platform approach to service delivery. (April 2014)
